Once in a while, someone says something that really causes me to stop and think. Last week, the gal cutting my hair said, “Wow, Val, you really live an adventurous life!” In my head, I said, not really. And I said out loud, “Yes, it seems that way.”
This really caused me to stop and think. In my years of being in business, I really have worked outside my comfort zone and done things I never imagined I’d do.
AND when I think about my business today, my comfort zone has grown so much that I am in it quite a bit. What??? Val being in her comfort zone? That seems impossible!
The point is that what is outside of other people’s comfort zones isn’t for me. My comfort zone has gotten so big that it is a challenge to keep finding things that are outside it.
So now, when I look at things I’m going to be doing, I will be looking for the things I love – one of my criteria for choosing to do something AND I will also be assessing is this in my comfort zone and if it is, how can I ramp it up to make it a great step outside my comfort zone?
My question for you, friends, is where are you staying in your comfort zone and playing it safe – maybe doing things the same because they’ve always worked, even though it might be less than before.
An even better question is where do you need to step out of your comfort zone to get the results you’ve always wanted? Please share your thought in the comments below.
